About me

As a baby in a pram,I was told that I used to cry when I saw the moon. My dear old Auntie Jean delighted in frequently telling me about how it suddenly dawned on her that I was crying because, quite simply, I wanted the moon.
In later life, for as long as I can recall, I always wanted to own my own farm. For many years that ambition seemed to be as unobtainable as the moon but in 1988, due to reasons unfortunate and ultimately fortunate, the situation changed.
As a result of these changes I was able to move with my wife and young family to where we live today. A smallholding in the village of Morfa Nefyn on the Lleyn Peninsula.
Please accept this warmly meant invitation to see whats happening 'Over my Gate'.
Join my family on our four acre smallholding as we  endeavour to develop our fledgling cider and apple juice business, care for our livestock and basically get stuck into growing as much of our own food as we can.
All in all, this year should be an exciting one. I can hardly wait. It will see the launch of our new sea fishing boat, the development of our polytunnel and as ever, the coming and going of the seasons.
Welcome friends.
